Jaguar CF-X Concept

Jaguar-CFX-main

Berman Autostyle Competition 2007

Here is the work I participated with on the 4th edition of the Berman Autostyle Competition in 2007. I had to work on two different cars each from a separate category: Jaguar CF-X Concept – create sports version and Renault Koleos Concept.
The task was to create a special version based on an existing production or concept car. I had to focus mainly on the exterior and was allowed to add accessory parts or replace original OE components such as bumpers, grilles, side skirts, wheel arches, mouldings etc. No modifications to the original bodywork were permitted. DESIGN

The creation of the sports version of Jaguar CF-X Concept was mainly focused on bringing more character and attitude to the car.I felt the CF-X needs a leading feature that expresses Jaguar's identity most, one that shines the typical attitude for all the vehicles of the British company. I tried also to bring distinctive and classical view to the vehicle, which at the same time is elegant and sporty. Of course, the car is painted in the traditional British Racing Green colour.
From the original details, I have kept only the side mirrors, but coloured them in white. I’ve made a completely new front bumper and skirt. Bigger grill (extended downwards) with a white plate finish at the bottom end. White intakes just under the barely changed headlights. New rear bumper and brand new exhaust pipes designed as one panel, which fits an elegant diffuser – all in white. New side skirts with a small intake to cool the rear disk brakes. The window frame is also in white, as is the decorative plate fixed on top of the bonnet of the car. Aerodynamic aid is also provided by the help of the rear spoiler. New alloy wheels.
I have considered couple of options for the material used for the side panels transforming the car. The more feasible and cheap way is using fibre-glass body panels, fitted precisely onto the existing bodywork. The second and more expensive in all the aspects, but more prestigious is the carbon-fibre. Panels stretched precisely with the shape needed and then fixed on the actual body of the vehicle.
